• Hyperland TWM?

Has anyone played around w/ Hyprland just yet? Its another tiling window manager that has some focuses on fancy animations combined with text elements. Configuration is done in text .conf files and its the 'new kid on the block'...

It looks pretty neat, I'm thinking of spinning it up on my NixOS machine.

I've heard of it, Brodie Robertson uses it I believe, it's kinda similar to Sway?
I'll look into it, if it works with Nvidia well I might have a play with.

I'm still in Weston vs. i3 debate in my recent Raspbian Lite development.
But I love the videos with Hyprland and once I catch-up with the modern linux window management tactics, perhaps I'll be ready to give it a test.

I liked herbstluft - but for no 'good' reason.. as you know, I still haven't found a TWM that I can live with... but I'm still on nano, and all. :P

Meh.. I was more emacs guy in the past, but this days more used to VSCode setup and being lazy ass big time.

Nevertheless I test TUI linux experience on RPI 3B+ for last couple of days. Without VIM/EMACS raw experience, is there any app worth considering as TUI IDE + file manager + cli/terminal integration?

I just installed micro, but it seems like a lot of config is required to let it shine. Anything that works out of the box like VSCode does, but in terminal mode?

I do like the idea of having a Zoom vim meetup. I do wanna learn it one day - I know how powerful vim/vi can be if you know what yer doing... and then a whole other world if you use plugins and whatnot.

i recommend this book to learn vim: https://www.amazon.com/Practical-Vim-Edit-Speed-Thought/dp/1680501275

i use a plain vim everywhere, no plugins whatever, because i am using it on every machine i use/administer (approx. ~50) and i don't like to depend on things i have to install this many times :)

Of course, of course. :P Jitsi is really nice - many ppl don't know that its just as good as Zoom ever was. Theres been a 'movement' of nix fans simply sharing Jitsi links instead of Zoom and have been met with... customers, associates and employees that still join the calls. :P Who woulda known??

Sign me up for that - I've been working more with a shell, vim and tmux

I'd like a .vimrc I could take with me to customize colors, otherwise vanilla vim seems to do everything I need. Word wrapping and formatting
is still a challenge for me, I'm trying to replace nano for writing text documents.

Vanilla vim is what I primarily use as well, but the reasons are mainly because when I use vim on a shared computer (pretty frequently with SRE shaped work) any sort of personalization/customization is frowned upon. So I got used to the defaults and they work well enough for me. :P
