From Irish_Monk@1337:3/168 to All on Mon Sep 5 17:06:12 2022
    Hello All,

Is there a way to have filefix send files that are not new. With Areafix you can do this with messages by using the %RESCAN command. Not seeing anything for the file part tho. any suggestions or know how to do this?

    Thanks!!

Sadly there isn't a way to rescan file bases, this is likely due to when fido style nets were using modems back in the day, you could easily force a hub to be locked up for days if you rescaned file bases, so I don't think that functionality was ever implemented.

    I hope this helps.

    Howdy,

This is a software (file tosser) feature - that depends on the file tosser of your hub.

Mystic, being an all in 1 BBS/mailer/tosser doesnt have that feature (AFAIK), but Hub 2 (me), which I use binkd/hpt does (kinda). You can re-request files be sent to you (each listed by name/area), not a general %RESCAN all feature like you can with echomail.

Thanks for the response. Thats what Ive been being told and I understand why now. With it being like that, I will probably just download the files and put them in the proper file bases, instead of going thru filefix. Im learning things everyday and its a blast!!!
