  • dosemu nightly maintenance

    Hey friends,

    I have Mystic running in linux and am using dosemu2 for all of my dos doorgames. My question here is for anyone else with a similar setup: how do you run nightly maintenance?

    My thought process is to put it as a nightly event in Mystic itself but I'm not clear on what exactly I'd use as the command. Help appreciated :)

    afaik it's in there by default (in MIS) and runs 'mutil mutil.ini' .. the default supplied .ini file.

    if it's missing it's just:

    event type shell
    exec hour 4
    exec min 0
    shell mutil mutil.ini

    all days of the week.

    now i don't know what i've edited but it looks like under [General] everything is false except:

    PurgeMessageBases
    PackMessageBases
    MergeNodeLists
    PackFileBases
    PurgeUserBase
    PackUserBase

    PurgeMessageBases - no options (uses info from mystic -cfg, per base) PackMessageBases - no options
    MergeNodeLists - follow docs from default .ini
    PackFileBases i have checkfiles true and remove_missing false
    PurgeUserBase i have 180 days
    PackUserBase has no options

    You don't have to exit MIS for any of this stuff to run.

    Everything else in the .ini i have configured elsewhere to run when messages come in, etc. Lots of info from Avon's setup videos on YouTube at that point.

    Haha :) Thanks for the writeup! I think I may have it figured out, but as it's 11:15pm we'll see in a few hours lol. I appreciate the effort!
