• Mystic on Linux and door games

From Michael Borthwick@21:3/179 to All on Tue Apr 25 11:00:16 2023
Just wondering if door games worked on Linux or if I'll have to move to Windows to get some door games happening?

Also what's the process for moving from Linux to Windows for Mystic, do I just need to copy the config files and data directories?

there are some door games that work in Linux but depending on what game you want to run you may be up for emulation options or (as you say) moving to a 32 bit windows OS as a smoother option.

Have a look at the wiki and it talks about moving from windows to Linux/RPi... you can essentially look at that info as a guide on what is need. Copying the files and updating paths is essentially it plus having the correct Mystic executables.

There are a handful of native linux games, and for DOS games, you can use the 'dosemu2' application. It's a bit nontrivial to set up but once you have it working, adding additional doors is simple.
