From Alonzo@21:1/130 to All on Mon Feb 13 10:30:24 2023
I've had my board online since October of last year but I am still tweaking it and learning things. I am still having difficulty understanding the difference between "Message Groups" and "Message Bases." I am trying to have 2 separate areas - one for local messages and one for the fsxNet messages. So far I've only managed to create one message base, I guess it is. I will go back and read the docs so I can figure this out. Part of the problem is that I ran a Searchlight BBS for several years and got used to it. Now I am running Mystic and everything is weird for me.

... What does it mean to pre-board? Do you get on before you get on?

A message group would be for a network, and a message group can have any number of message areas (or message bases).

If you create message groups you can assign message areas to those groups on the acs setting. I use s20g1 for message group 1 and s20g2 for message group 2 and so on.

File areas work in a similar way but use z instead of g for the groups..

    s20z1 for group 1, s20z2 for group 2 etc.

Thanks a lot. This really helps.
