• Mystic vs Modem

    How do I configure Mystic to answer my modem? I don't see anything in the config menus to operate with a POTS line.

    Nope, Mystic itself doesn't handle POTS.

    On Linux you could use something like mgetty and a telnet script;
    on Windows I believe some people are using SEXPOTS:

    SEXPOTS works nicely (natively) on Linux, also.

    Ah, yes, sorry, I forgot to mention...

    (Using mgetty + ifcico here to be able to receive FTN mail through POTS.)

    Best regards

    I use Synchronet's SEXPOTS application to do this: http://wiki.synchro.net/util:sexpots

    It will listen for a RING on the modem and then forward that to a telnet interface of your choice (in my case localhost:23).

    It works for both Windows & Linux.
