    Hi

    So the last few days I've been trying my hand again at linux
    distribution making... instead of basing off linux from scratch I worked
    from KISS linux this time.

    Notable differences between my distro and a normal distro - it uses musl
    C library, libressl, runit for initialization and the KISS package
    manager.

    Notable differences between my distro and KISS - it replaces busybox
    with standard system utilities, I've expanded on the core repo to
    include more things you need by default.

    I have made a root tarball available on my site - you have to install it
    with a live cd from another distro - but it's still a work in progress.

    Things I want to do:

    * Add locales

    * Add tzdata to core

    * Import more of the KISS community repository.

    * port MATE

    Anyway, if you're interested you can see what I've got so far at http://quinnlinux.com/

    Has anyone messed with the Windows Linux system? I am thinking about using it as my training wheels.

    It's a tricky question. I use WSL 2 daily in Windows 10. It works fine, but occationally it will throw a fit and mess up it's DNS settings. If you're lucky you can fix it and if you're unlucky you have to re-install WSL to get it working again, which means you loose everything you have done in WSL.

    Really? How much has this happened? I'm on the insider slow track and WSL2
    has been nothing if not perfect for me so far :)

    It happened once for for me and enough times for others to render several web pages about it. :)
