    Hello

How is every one going? What have you been doing?

I'm a bit bored. Finished testing TIC hatching and forwarding on
magicka, got filefix done, and cleaned up areafix a bit. It's now
possible to run an FTN net with magicka. Yay! Now I just need to get to
and document how. Not so Yay.

So next on the list of things, is either allfiles/newfiles file
listings, synchronet qwk extensions or native wwiv networking. I'm not
sure which I want to do next.

Been playing animal crossing a little bit on the switch.. i know it's a
kids game, but it's fun and relaxing :)

And World of Warcraft on and off - though I'm a bit bored of that... I
want allied races but don't want to go through the rigmarole of earning
    them :P

Added a new "adult" door section on happyland, mainly to test out the
flags feature (it wasn't working, so glad i did). No one can access it
unless they have the "adult" flag on their account, which no one but me
has. How do you determine if one is an adult or not... I guess if
they're using a BBS.. chances are, but do you get people to email you a
photo of their drivers license or birth certificate or something... or
just trust them.. it's not as if these doors are secret and hard to find
    I guess.

well i'm going to format one of my computers, probably put elementary os
on it for a bit of a play.

Hi there, I'm not familiar with an "adult" door can you please bring me up to speed on what we're talking about here?

I'm on my way over, I have to experience what an adult door is. I haven't
been on a BBS since the 90's and I was more interested in computers then, so
I missed this whole Adult Door thing, my curiosity has me wondering what in
the world I missed out on.

Got a new firestick so been vegging out on the sofa for a few days.

Very cool. I'd play with the native wwiv networking as I'm already in
    wwivftn anyway.

My daughter (28 years old) loves that game. She's been trying to
convince my wife and I to get it for our switch too but it's a pricy
cart if we don't like it.

Used to have one of those I loaned a former roommate. She walked off with it. Several months after this...called Amazon tech support & they remotely
bricked it. Usually playing with computers for around 40 or so years...I
brick something...I'm pissed & worried I won't be able to afford to replace
it. This time...when I heard they deactivated it...was smiles for at least a couple of days...since on a Friday night...her kids were watching something & in the middle of that...the device bricks. ;D

I do have a fair number of them in the file area. I have also removed restrictions on that area as well. I had it set up to only allow users over

It goes up and down. There are times I feel motivated to get things done at home, work, or for fun. But then there are times I feel depressed and just like giving up on everything.

I get frustrated/irritated with things and people way too easily, especially those whom I love or am close to. I think that can be true for all of us,
that we take those closest to us for granted.

That being said, I'm also working on self-improvement as well. I bought a
book called Triggers which is about how to use triggers to permanently change behavior. It's a hard book to accept though. I started reading it once and
it basically spells out the different false beliefs about change that short-circuit us. Some including things like "If I read this book, or have this experience, THAT will change me". I am very guilty of those kind of thoughts.

Well, that was probably a bit heavier than what people expected but, hey, at least it is honest.

On the plus side I got to have lunch with my mom today and she got me some
beer as a father's day gift! WOOO!

Meditation. There's a ton of free apps out there, and an equal number
of paid apps. Spend 10 minutes a day clearing your mind, and you'll be
more in control of your mind.

Is the alternative to accept the change as if it's already made?
    There's a lot to be said for visualization; I'm a visceral/visual
person, and no amount of rationalization can compare to me "seeing"
the results I want and using that as a motivation.

Meditation is great, but anything that encourages mundfulness in all its forms is going to help.

Accepting change is often a good alternative, and visualisation can be a powerful tool for both accepting change and driving positive change.

I get frustrated/irritated with things and people way too easily, especially those whom I love or am close to. I think that can be true
for all of us, that we take those closest to us for granted.

I can understand that. Life is hard, and situations and circumstances can
make what's already hard a lot more stressful. We're all human, and we all have boundaries and limits. Sometimes we get frustrated and angry, but
that's okay. Thankfully, those who love us will forgive us if we get upset--and I think we can learn from those mistakes and apologize.

Something I've learned from my therapist is that you can push yourself too hard. I think you knowing and wanting to improve is a big first step, so way to go on that. :) And self-improvement is an incremental process and an exercise persistence. Even if you aren't successful the first time, you can learn from the experience.

Well, that was probably a bit heavier than what people expected but,
hey, at least it is honest.

Heavy stuff can be...well, heavy, but it's nice to get it off your chest to folks who will listen, so thanks for sharing.
