This time of year is always a bit tough in my line of work. [Sales, small business owner, hustler, entrepreneur] Christmas and thru the New Year has historically been where my sales employees struggle the most... and where my profits lag as the new year catches up with sales.

I've had to strip down my offices a lot thru covid. I've been blessed, I've held the same company for 22 years.. straight out of high school and into a sales job that ultimately became my business.

This pandemic has been hard on me... I never complained or voiced my concern because... I know that others DON'T HAVE work at all; who am I to complain about running at 50%?

But its continuing to get harder and harder. Funds are low, and I've been running through savings as my means are a bit over my income. I really hope that this vaccine helps to get society back to spending; as its really freaking tough. I mean... who am I to complain when employees of mine have lost much more; I still eat my dinners and pay my overhead. However, my golden goose egg is dwindling.... and I need a change.

    It's been hard everywhere.

I was badly screwed up this year until July or so. My comeback, however, is going to be very powerful. My providers are dropping their prices to the floor because nobody is buying their stuff (first necessities most of them btw, such as soap, clutches, orthopedics). Meanwhile I still have the connections to get the wares sold.

I am not selling a whole lot right now but I am getting to build my stock for extremely cheap while having my sysadmin and magazine jobs as a backup. So overall I have the ressources to barely survive but when the crisis is over I will have built an operating business for 4 bucks.

Speaking of which, I finished formatting Chapter 4 of The Flaming Wrath of Arelor yesterday afternoon. So fucking epic :-) I can't wait to chapter 8, which seems to be everybody's favorite.

Now a days I work for someone else but I did run a business in my younger days. Times were good then but running a business was never easy. I imagine today it must be tough to keep it all running. Kudos to you and all who keep at it.

The vaccines are going to start to be rolled out in Canada soon although it may be a while before I get it myself. I hope that the vaccine will do what we need it to do and we can all just get back to normal. Life can be hard enough even in good times.

    Ttyl :-),
