My wife subscribes to an online estate auction web site. Usually it's got <SARCASM>really interesting</SARCASM> stuff like jewelry, craft magazine, and sometimes even tupperware.

Anyway last week she alerted me to one of these auctions, but it had reloading presses and supplies as well as a host of amateur radio equipment. Must have been five or six different Icom HTs out there of various models as well as chargers, spare batteries and other cool stuff.

I told her what my maximum bids on any of it would be, intentionally low balling because hey... I don't want to spend a lot of money!

Wound up winning a couple of good items. Scored an MFJ 259 antenna analyzer, and this one I actually bid up until I won. $170. Looks like it works great, even if the batteries inside HAD corroded. In the market for another pair of battery holders (already located on eBay) and I'll be set with that.

Also nabbed an ICOM IC-04AT for about $20. Darned thing even works! Not exactly sure how I'll fill up all of the memory slots - there are TEN of them, but I think I'll manage. Got some spare batteries and a desktop charger for it as well. Nice thing is, those batteries will also work in my HTX-404 and HTX- 202. Now all I need to do is fix the ER1 message on the 404. Ordered the button battery and holder for it, I believe it's down in my mail box right now. Will stop and pick it up on my way into town tonight.

I'm really happy about the antenna analyzer. Been wanting one for a long time, but didn't want to pay full price....

Well, that's all for now. Just wanted to pop in and talk about my good luck. Well MOSTLY good luck. If only that one guy hadn't outbid me for the RCBS progressive press......

    Regards,
